Melisa Lummus M.S. CCC/SLP - Clinic Manager

Melisa is a Speech Language Pathologist with a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association(ASHA). Melisa graduated with her Bachelor's Degree from SFA, as well as her Master's Degree. She has dedicated over 16 years to HLA. She began her experience here as a part-time SLP-A while she was enrolled in school. She then worked part time here while she was completing her clinical fellowship, and then moved here full time after she finished her certification as a SLP-CCC. In 2012 she became the clinic manager.

Melisa has more than 24 years of speech therapy experience in a variety of settings including hospital care, schools, and home health. She has experience working with a wide array of patients, ages, and disorders, but especially enjoys working with pediatric feeding. She has extensive expertise with feeding and uses Beckman Oral Motor Interventions. She is a certified VitalStim provider.

In her free time, Melisa enjoys reading, camping, and vacations with her family. Melisa has 4 grown children and 2 sweet grandchildren.

Andrea Curbow M.S. CCC/SLP

Andrea is a Speech Language Pathologist with a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association(ASHA). Andrea has dedicated over 9 years of service at HLA, beginning her time here in 2008. She left in 2012 to pursue work in long term care facilities, before returning in 2019. Andrea graduated with her Bachelor's Degree and her Master's Degree from SFA. She has worked in a variety of settings, including long term care, outpatient/inpatient rehabilitation, and hospital care. Andrea loves working with adults and children of all ages and their families. She has extensive experience working with aphasia, dysphagia, and speech and language disorders.

In her free time, Andrea's husband and 4 children keep her busy. She loves being outdoors doing activities like fishing, hunting, and camping with her family.

Caylee Moore M.S. CCC/SLP

Caylee is a Speech Language Pathologist with a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association(ASHA). Caylee has dedicated almost 9 years of service to HLA, beginning her experience here in September 2016. Caylee graduated from Panola College with her Associates Degree in 2008. She then attended Stephen F. Austin and received her Bachelor’s Degree in 2010 and her Master’s Degree in 2012.

Caylee worked in a variety of settings before arriving at HLA, including adult rehabilitation, acute care, and pediatric outpatient. She has experience working with a wide array of patients, ages, and disorders, but especially enjoys working with pediatrics and new outside of the box cases. Caylee has extensive expertise in the treatment of Language Disorders as well as genetic disorders such as Down Syndrome, Fragile X, and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.

In her free time, Caylee prefers to spend time with her family and two dogs. She loves to read and considers herself a foodie! She has a fondness for traveling to new places and considers Disney World the happiest place on earth!

Helen Cramm M.S. CCC-SLP

Helen is a Speech Language Pathologist with a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association(ASHA). Helen has dedicated 4 years of service at HLA, beginning her experience here in August 2021. Helen graduated from Baylor University with her Bachelor’s Degree in 2017. She then continued at Baylor and earned her Master’s Degree in 2019.

Helen has worked in outpatient care since she graduated, and she has experience working with a wide array of patients, ages, and disorders. She especially enjoys working with pragmatic language in patients of all ages with Autism, ADHD and history of TBI’s. Helen is PROMPT certified and has extensive experience in the treatment/evaluation of patients in need of speech generating devices.

In her free time, Helen prefers to spend time with her family and her dog. She loves trying out new skills or crafts and is often imagining up creative projects or endeavors.

Kalisha Wade M.S. CCC/SLP

Kalisha is a Speech Language Pathologist with a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association(ASHA). Before beginning her experience at HLA in 2011, Kalisha worked in Bryan ISD. She dedicated almost 9 years of service to HLA until, in July 2020, she left HLA to work in NISD, She returned to HLA in August 2022. Kalisha graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Communication Disorders in 2006 from SFA, and continued at SFA to obtain her Master's Degree in 2008.

Kalisha is a member of the Texas Speech and Language Association (TSHA) as well as the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association(ASHA). In 2018/2019, Kalisha was selected as the Top SLP in Nacogdoches, Tx by the International Association of Healthcare Professionals. Her biography has been spotlighted in "Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare" which recognizes Healthcare Providers of excellence.

Kalisha has extensive experience working with children diagnosed with disorders such as Autism, learning disabilities, Cerebral Palsy, and Traumatic Brain Injuries. Her goal is "that by the completion of therapeutic intervention, every child/client leaves with a 'voice' allowing them to effectively communicate with their families and in society."

In her free time, Kalisha loves to spend quality time and travel with her husband Brandon and her 2 children. Kalisha loves to spend time worshipping God, and is empowered by Him to help assist individuals with minimal speech capabilities.

Mary Crocker M.S. CCC-SLP

Mary joined the Hettie Legg and Associates team in June of 2013. She is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Mary is a certified Lee Silverman Voice Treatment LOUD (LSVT LOUD®) Certified Clinician. LSVT LOUD® is an effective speech treatment for individuals with Parkinson disease and other neurological diseases. Mary holds a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Bachelor of Music Performance degree in Voice from the University of North Texas.

As a classically trained soprano, Mary has a passion for the care and treatment of the human voice. She works enthusiastically with young and elderly, utilizing both traditional and advanced techniques to help each of her patients. Mary presented her Graduate Research Study, “Impact of Cheerleading on Acoustic Measure of Vocal Function: A Cross-Sectional Study” with Dr. Christine Bergan at the world renowned Annual Voice Foundation Symposium in Philadelphia, PA in 2012. Mary speaks to community groups about voice disorders and treatment techniques. Mary is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, the Texas Speech-Language Hearing Association (TSHA), the ASHA SIG-03 Voice and Upper Airway Disorders Special Interest Group, the Kappa Delta Pi educational honor society, and is a Gold Award recipient and lifetime member of the Girl Scouts of the United States of America.

Morgan Richard M.S. CCC-SLP

Morgan graduated from SFA with her Bachelors Degree in May 2023. She then continued in the SFA graduate program. In January 2025, Morgan was placed at HLA as a student to gain clinical hours, thus beginning her time here! After graduating from SFA with her Master’s Degree in May 2025, Morgan returned to HLA in June 2025. She has worked hard to complete her clinical fellowship as a Speech Language Pathology Intern, and as of early May, she has officially finished! Morgan now holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology and is a full fledged SLP! We are so very proud of her!

Morgan has worked with adults and pediatrics with a variety of disorders and deficits. She especially enjoys working with pediatric patients to address articulation and early language skills.

Abigail Delgado, SLP-Assistant

Abi is a Speech Language Pathology Assistant. She began her journey here in 2010 as a transporter/translator, while she was attending SFA. She then obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Communication Disorders in 2016. Abi has extensive experience working as a bilingual Spanish/English SLP-A and treats a variety of patients with language and articulation disorders.

Abi has 3 children, and enjoys spending time with her family. She loves being a soccer and cheer mom!

Jordan Vardeman, SLP-Assistant

Jordan is a Speech Language Pathology Assistant. She began her journey at HLA in February of 2025. Jordan attended Texas A&M University and graduated in May of 2023 with a Bachelor's Degree in Public Health. She then attended SFA's leveling program to obtain her Bachelor's Degree in Speech Language Pathology in December of 2024. In July 2025, she began attending the SFA graduate program in order to obtain her Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology. Jordan especially loves working with pediatrics.

In her free time, Jordan loves to spend time with her family and friends. She enjoys traveling and walking her dog.

Karissa Oliver, SLP-Assistant

Karissa is a Speech Language Pathology Assistant. She began her journey at HLA in July 2026. Karissa graduated from UT Tyler with her Bachelor's Degree in December 2025. Before beginning here, Karissa worked in the school setting in the DFW area.

Karissa especially loves working with the littles and kiddos with articulation disorders.

In her free time, Karissa loves to spend time with her family and traveling.
