Nacogdoches native, Mrs. Kalisha Wade is a graduate of the 2008 class of Stephen F. Austin State University receiving a Master’s of Science in Speech Language Pathology. As a previous employee of the Bryan Independent School District, Kalisha began her working experience instructing children ages three through fourteen. From August of 2008 until May of 2011, she had the opportunity to educate children diagnosed with a variety of unique disorders such as autism, learning disabilities, and traumatic brain Injury. In August of 2011, she moved to Nacogdoches were she became an employee for Hettie Legg and Associates and is currently a member of the Texas Speech Language Hearing Association and the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
Not only does Kalisha love being a Speech-Language Pathologist, she also believes it is a gratifying career. By improving voices, increasing language skills, and promoting effective communication; working at Hettie Legg and Associates has been a rewarding experience for her. She appreciates the abilities empowered through God which enables her to assist individuals with minimum speech capabilities. Kalisha’s ultimate career goal is that by the completion of therapeutic intervention, every child leaves with a “voice” allowing them to effectively communicate within society.
